CharIN joint booth with Energica bike was well-attended
Together with its members Phoenix Contact, DBT, IoTecha, Scienlab and TÜV Süd the CharIN e.V. was presented at a joint booth from October 18th to 20th at the eCarTec 2016 in Munich, Germany. Due to the second General Assembly of CharIN that took place on October 19th at the trade fair, most of the international CharIN members as well as the board, members of the Steering Committee, focus group participants and representatives of the coordination office were present at the trade fair.
On the agenda of the second General Assembly were the review of activities in 2016 and the preview of activities planned for 2017, including the international activities in Asia and North America. Moreover, the new members and new members of the Steering Committee got the chance to present.
The attraction of the joint booth was an electric bike of the Energica Motor Company. The Italian manufacturer was at the venue with Energica Ego, the electric sportbike. Ego has 100kW (136 hp c.ca) of instantaneous power and a torque of 195 Nm. The sportbike accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds to reach a top speed of 240 km/h.
To promote CCS with its one system approach as a global standard, CharIN Chairman Claas Bracklo spoke at the World Mobility Summit on October 18th 2016 in the Session „DC fast charging – what is the right system?“ and, of course, explained the advantages of the Combined Charging System (CCS).

Information about CharIN e.V.
The Charging Interface Initiative e. V. - abbreviated to CharIN e. V. - is a registered association with over 50 members. It is open to all interested parties. The three primary aims are to roll out and establish the Combined Charging System (CCS) as the global standard for charging battery-powered electric vehicles of all kind, to draw up requirements for the evolution of charging-related standards and set up a conformance verification system for use by manufacturers implementing the CCS in their products as well as to promote the CCS standard worldwide .
